Intervention Centre for women and children

At the Intervention Centre, we counsel women and girls who are living with acute abuse in their relationships and where there is an urgent need for action. The Intervention Centre is a point of contact for women and children and for coordinating work under the German Gewaltschutzgesetz [Protection Against Violence Act] and the expulsion protection order process.
Another priority for the centre is the issue of stalking.

We also counsel girls and young women whose families prevent them from exercising self-determination in how they conduct their lives and/or are threatened with a marriage against their will.
We provide support through:

  • telephone and face-to-face counselling
  • contacting official bodies, local authorities and solicitors
  • providing information on the possible legal steps available
  • clarifying the children’s situation
  • procuring other assistance that is available

Counselling may also take place outside the centre (i.e. at home, school, hospital, etc.), if the woman wishes.
